This invitation-only celebration dinner brings together business leaders and the Third Sector; charities, social enterprises and voluntary organisations, whose work underpins the wellbeing of our communities. 

Because keeping businesses alive is not only an economic concern, but also a moral one. Strong businesses enable strong communities, and strong communities enable a thriving Humber. 

Hosted in our award-winning restaurant, Bilocca, this will be an intimate fine-dining evening focused on partnership, shared responsibility and the quiet power of organisations that support those who rely on our region most. 

Partners in Place is not an awards ceremony and it is not a fundraiser. It is a statement of intent, that business success and social responsibility are inseparable in the Humber. 

Rationale
Charities, social enterprises and voluntary organisations provide essential support across mental health, homelessness, youth services, care and inclusion. Their sustainability is directly linked to the health of the Humber’s business community. This event reframes economic growth as both an economic and moral responsibility. Our business. Our community. Our shared responsibility.

After-Dinner Address – Special Guest Speaker 

Dr John Buttrick MBE 

The evening will close with an after-dinner address from Dr John Buttrick MBE; educator, charity founder and mental health advocate. 

Founder of the Hull & East Yorkshire Children’s University, John has spent nearly three decades championing aspiration and opportunity for young people regardless of background, a mission that marks its 30th anniversary this year. 

Drawing on his lived experience, including recovery from a life-changing illness, John will reflect on resilience, belonging and the shared responsibility of business, education and the Third Sector in shaping lives and futures.
